Linebacker Logan Wilson announced his retirement from the National Football League on Wednesday via his Instagram account. He is 29 years old.
Wilson played the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, who selected him in the third round, 92nd overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Wyoming.[1][2] In his rookie season, he appeared in 12 games, starting two.[3]
Wilson earned a starting role in 2021 and recorded more than 100 combined tackles in each of the next three seasons through 2023.[3] That year, he had a key interception in the Bengals' divisional playoff victory over the Tennessee Titans, helping secure a 19-16 win and advance to the AFC Championship Game.[4][5] Cincinnati defeated the Kansas City Chiefs to win the AFC title before losing to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI.
"After a lot of thought and prayer, I’ve decided to officially retire from the NFL," Wilson wrote. "From being a Wyoming kid with big dreams to hearing my name called in the 3rd round of the 2020 Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals… football gave me more than I ever could have imagined."
He reflected on his time in Cincinnati, noting the 2021 playoff run and the birth of his daughter there. Wilson, who wore number 55, ended his post with "Who Dey forever," a reference to the Bengals fan chant, and "55 out."
Wilson stated he had been traded to the Dallas Cowboys during the 2025 season and was thankful for the opportunity to finish the year there. He expressed gratitude to his family, teammates, coaches and fans.
